Career-spanning retrospective January 18, 2005 Peter Durward Harris (Leicester England) 28 out of 28 found this review helpful
Kix Brooks (no relation of Garth) and Ronnie Dunn failed to establish themselves as solo singers in the eighties but have proved extremely successful as a duo, their brand of rocking country music taking America by storm, selling many millions of albums. Kix is a dynamic live performer while Ronnie has an outstanding voice and sings lead on most of their songs. When their second volume of Greatest hits was released in America, the UK division of their record company chose not to release it, but instead created a new compilation containing (supposedly) the best tracks from both compilations. The three new tracks (That's what it's all about, It's getting better all the time, Independent trucker) have all been included. With ten tracks that originally appeared on the first greatest hits set (still available in the UK), this collection is really aimed at those people who are new to the music of Brooks and Dunn - in the UK, that means nearly everybody as they have not made any impact outside the limited market for country music. Given the nature of the compilation, it is difficult to fault the track selection, which features early classics such as Boot scooting boogie, Hard working man and Little Miss Honky Tonk as well as more recent songs such as Red dirt girl, Only in America and their duet with Reba McEntire, If you see him / If you see her. If you don't have any of their music and you're sure that you just want one compilation, buy this. If you've already got their first hits collection, buy the second collection instead of this - you've got half the tracks already and the rest are on the second collection.

This is the best album ever. I just love it and love all the songs on it. It truly is the best of the best of their songs.
