5 out of 5 stars Wait.... This is LINDSAY?   June 13, 2005

When I first heard the song I couldn't believe this was Lindsay Lohan. The videos is great and the remixes are cool but not as great as the original song. This is a great dance song and is very fun to hear.

4 out of 5 stars If you like Lindsay...   February 23, 2005

I will not go into a critical comparison of the various Pop princesses, nor even a comparison of those manufactured from the ABC-Disney media behemoth. I will just say I like Lindsay Lohan. I think she's cute and wholesome. Until of course I saw this video and saw her glammed up and turned out like so many other pop-princess-products. But I don't mind...

Which is why I bought this single: it has the Rumors video on it which is pretty hot. As for the merits of the music, the song, "Rumors", in its very incarnations is what it is: it conforms to the standard radio-friendly pop music produced today.

And actually God's Little Girl did get the track list right per this Amazon ASIN/SKU#. Here is my take:

    1. Rumors (Original song) - 4/5 if you like this song here it is.
    2. Rumors (Full Phatt Remix) - 4/5 this is the version I would play in the car. It booms nicely.
    3. Rumors (Full Phatt Club Mix - 4/5 This is definately a club track. I can see people hitting the dancefloor for this one.
    4. Video - 5/5 Like I said, it's) hot!

3 out of 5 stars "Rumors" has me split!   August 10, 2005

When I first heard this song, I was immediately enthralled with it since the music, even though very radio-friendly is quite catchy and the chorus overall is universal. What made me like the song even more is that Lohan's voice proved to have some grit over the fluff that Duff has put out and at the time she seemed to attempt to move herself away from the 'rock' Ashlee Simpson was putting out. Her vocals seems with the right songs in the future, she could actually prove to be a successful singer.

But as the story goes, she decided to go "rock" (what she has recorded for her debut is just like Duff & Simpson which is basically pop with more prominent guitars and a less 'sweeter' vocal) and abandon the R&B spiked pop she was doing with this single. The verses ultimately are not universal enough as most people do not have to deal with the paparazzi and come off as somewhat self-indulgent. Also, towards the beginning of the second verse some guy yells 'what' and I am wondering why didn't Lohan just call Lil' Jon to do the honors than have someone basically impersonate him?

Overall this single is decent as it can absolutely get stuck in your head almost immediately (and isn't that what good pop music is supposed to be?) But the song is not the best in the world either, if the label would of appealed to Dance Radio and some club DJs with some better remixes, the song could of done better on the charts than just doing very well on TRL. All and all, a decent debut single, but it could of been better too.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome CD!!!!!   December 27, 2004

This CD is really cool!!! If you really like the Rumors song then you'll love this single.
    1. Rumors(Original song)- 5/5 great song
    2. Rumors(Full Phatt Remix)- 5/5 this is my favorite on this CD. It's a very upbeat version of the original song with lots of cool music. Very great song to dance to.
    3. Rumors(Full Phatt Club Mix)- 5/5 this is a cool song too. kind of a slower upbeat song but it's still great with cool music.
    4. Video- 5/5 I love the video!
So in other words, I highly recommend this CD if you love the Rumors song. You won't be disappointed!

    5 out of 5 stars Flashback To Electro-Funk   December 14, 2004

I love music; pop, country, jazz, blues, new age. You name it, I enjoy it. But I have to say that dance music is what gets me going. And boy, does this song dish out some awesome attitude. The regular version of this song is great, but WOW, the 2 additional songs simply kick ass. Think Vanity 6, Shelia E., Egyptian Lover, Stevie B. or the Cover Girls of the 80's, update the "woes" facing superstars of 2004 and throw in some electro-funk synths and you have song that you can't resist. I also see a lot of similarities to "Yeah!" by Usher. If you already love the radio version, you are gonna be floored at these remixes.
