Yes, it's different... July 18, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
... it's very different from anything else Danzig has recorded. It's shockingly different from Danzig 1-4. But does it suck? No. Does it deserve the amount of vitriol directed at it by so many reviews? No. Even if you can't get past the completely different sound of this CD, there is still plenty of traditional Danzigy goodness to be had. "Ashes," for instance, is a really beautiful track, in which Glenn's vocals are clear, clean, unprocessed and beautiful, as they are on Danzig 1-4. I prefer the stripped-down, acoustic version of "Come to Silver" on The Lost Tracks of Danzig, but the version on this disc is also spooky and cool. Danzig is one of very few artists with true integrity... he does what he wants, how he wants, when he wants. Even if some albums don't have the particular sound that I prefer, which admittedly, this one doesn't, I can still respect it as the art that it is. Because of "Ashes," "Come To Silver," "7th House" and "Sacrifice," this CD gets 5 stars from me.
