Completely different, but the same signature sound April 25, 2009 S. Pinzino (NY, NY USA) Yes, it's Danzig. Sounds like Danzig - just completely different. It's hard on the ears for the person used to the "Danzig sound", but I think that was the point. It's an aural assault, it's designed to be shy of dynamics except for "Come to Silver" and "Ashes", and it's an exercise in experiencing difference. I love this album. This must be digested over time. If you only know "Mother", you may need a vacation after this one. Bring it on. "Come to Silver" is out of this world.
Not your typical Danzig-Now Industrial, sorta rap,and other beats. March 14, 2009 Jose Lopez (Miami,Florida USA) It's Different is what I would describe, and Different from previous Danzig, Although if you listen to danzig 4, you'll see he was close to this. but this is Industrial, Kinda nin, Kinda Rap(not really) kinda Ministry. It's kinda Good. Come to Silver, is good.
Yes, it's different... July 18, 2008 Netty Greenspan (Seattle, WA USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
... it's very different from anything else Danzig has recorded. It's shockingly different from Danzig 1-4. But does it suck? No. Does it deserve the amount of vitriol directed at it by so many reviews? No. Even if you can't get past the completely different sound of this CD, there is still plenty of traditional Danzigy goodness to be had. "Ashes," for instance, is a really beautiful track, in which Glenn's vocals are clear, clean, unprocessed and beautiful, as they are on Danzig 1-4. I prefer the stripped-down, acoustic version of "Come to Silver" on The Lost Tracks of Danzig, but the version on this disc is also spooky and cool. Danzig is one of very few artists with true integrity... he does what he wants, how he wants, when he wants. Even if some albums don't have the particular sound that I prefer, which admittedly, this one doesn't, I can still respect it as the art that it is. Because of "Ashes," "Come To Silver," "7th House" and "Sacrifice," this CD gets 5 stars from me.
