| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com This soundtrack offers a pretty standard mix of new songs, old chestnuts, and excerpts from the score (here by John Debney). On the new tip, Joss Stone and Patti LaBelle engage in an overheated battle of the divas on CD opener "Stir It Up," a bouncy piece of fluff that sounds more like Aretha Franklin circa "Freeway of Love" than classic soul. Other originals include Barenaked Ladies' "One Little Slip" (this movie's answer to Counting Crows' "Accidentally in Love" from Shrek 2) and the Cheetah Girls' peppy-but-bland cover of "Shake Your Tail Feather." But the real highlights are the songs performed by the movie's vocal cast, which includes Joan Cusack, Garry Marshall, Zach Braff, Steve Zahn, and Amy Sedaris. Their group cover of Elton John and Kiki Dee's "Don¹t Go Breaking My Heart," for instance, sounds as if half of them were drunk in the recording studio (and this is meant as a compliment.) Braff's a cappella version of "We Are the Champions" is smashing and Cusack and Zahn's take on the Spice Girls' "Wannabe" is completely demented. The kids will laugh; their parents will laugh even harder for completely different reasons. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

Surprisingly Enjoyable March 27, 2006 Akaila Azan (United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I thought this soundtrack was surprisingly enjoyable. It had a lot of older tracks that were almost appropriately placed in the movie. The songs they picked are the ones I like hearing on the radio in their rarety and are appropriate for children even though when they were made they targeted adults. It was cool.
I love it!!! November 8, 2005 Zach (California, USA) 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
I love the soundtrack! And the movie! "Chicken Little" is very fun and exciting. If you are in the mood to enjoy yourself, you will love the movie, and accordingly, the soundtrack. I highly recommend both.
The couple of score tracks on the CD are all appropriately good, most notably the cornfield chase. Also, the selection of songs is great.
Five For Fighting's rendition of "All I know" is the high point though. Thats what did it for me. As well as the Barenaked Ladies' new song.
And loving the movie as I did, the cast songs are very fun to listen to and very cute.
Overall I love this soundtrack, it makes me happy.
Definitely Not Little Value! June 17, 2006 James N Simpson (Gold Coast, QLD Australia) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is one of the best soundtracks to come out in a long time and easily the best from a children's film since the Shrek soundtrack. Unlike with a lot of other soundtracks all of the great music from the film is actually on this album, which granted may have been easier to occur than with full length films since the movie barely passed the hour mark but still it is good to see those who enjoyed the movie and loved the soundtrack not getting ripped off.
The big songs One Little Slip by the Barenaked Ladies, Shake a Tail Feather by The Cheetah Girls and the R.E.M. classic It's the End of the World as We Know it (and I Feel Fine) are accompanied by the karaoke versions sung by the actors who played the voices of Runt of the Litter and Abby Mallard of karaoke favourites Wannabe and Don't go Breaking my Heart. Zach Braff's (voice of Chicken Little) version of We are the Champions is also a classic. The scores to the main scenes of the movie are all here as well.
Whilst the movie itself disappointingly didn't live up to expectations its soundtrack however more than lives up to its hype.
Awesome soundtrack! March 29, 2006 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
My favorite song is One Little Slip by Barenaked Ladies the song that's played at the beginning of the film where Chicken Little is running. Chicken Little is ony of my favorite Disney films that I have in my DVD collection. If you like the movie then you will like the soundtrack. Go buy it!
Music for kids AND adults September 9, 2007 L. Triplett (Yuba City, California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We just love this soundtrack! It's one that you don't mind listening to over and over (unlike some). My son loves the movie and always wants to listen and dance to the music at the end of of video, so I figured it was a safe buy - and I was right!
