Album Description From the Label Presenting Britney Spears: B in the mix - The Remixes--a collection of brand new remixes of some of the Grammy-winning performer's biggest hits, some 'classic' remixes and as if that weren't enough a brand new song! The new previously unreleased track, entitled "And Then We Kiss" is remixed by Junkie XL. No Britney Spears fan, no music fan and certainly no dance fan could do without this non-stop hit list of monster remixes. Celebrate the many moods and sounds of Britney Spears: B in the mix - The Remixes. Description In the absence of a new studio album, the princess of pop follows up 2003's 'In The Zone' with this collection of remixes. The eclectic selection of guest producers includes Junkie XL, Jason Nevins, Hex Hector and Jacques Lu Cont aka Stuart Price, the producer of Madonna's 'Confessions On A Dancefloor' album. The album also includes the Hi-Bias remix of a new song, 'Someday', which was previously only available on the bonus CD included with Britney's 'Chaotic' DVD.

Some Really Good Tracks -coupled with auto-software install December 5, 2005 Mark Butler (Antioch, Ca USA) 53 out of 54 found this review helpful
Be warned - this cd will automatically install Sony's version of copy-protection software on any windows computer. I consider this software to be a virus as it renders the system open to hacking (code is already in the wild that exploits it). Be very careful. If I had known I would never have purchased or used this disk. Amazon merely says the disk is "enhanced" - now you know what they enhanced it with. As for the music, the Peter Rauhofer Reconstruction Mix of Toxic is worth the price of the cd. This is how a remix should be done! with an awsome pounding beat and samples carefully arranged to alter but retain the originals message, its just wonderful. Several other tracks, especially the Me Against The Music and Touch Of My Hand are outstanding. As is usual in a compilation like this some of them are mediochre and tired-sounding rehashes but nothing is perfect. I would have liked to see more from the recent album but overall its a good set, just don't get it if you expect to play it in a computer or move to mp3 device, because if you do you have granted Sony the right to decide what your system will allow you to do.
Britney Spears B In The Mix Review December 9, 2005 Dorrie Wheeler 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Everyone on the planet pretty much knows that Britney Spears recently had a baby but you may not know that Britney has a new CD in stores now. "Britney Spears B In The Mix The Remixes" is now available in stores. The set includes remixes of Britney's biggest hits and includes a new song titled "And Then We Kissed." The CD opens up with a hard hitting club throbbing rendition of Britney's 2003 hit single "Toxic." "Toxic" is followed up by the Justice remix of "Me Against The Music." This is a decent remix but rather boring when it comes to a remix. It's not as danceable as some of the other remixes. "Me Against The World" is followed up by remixes for the album tracks "Touch of My Hand," and "Breath on Me." The new song, "And Then We Kiss," is a real nice club sounding song. It would have been cool if Britney had recorded a video for this song. It might have brought more attention to this remix project. It would have been nice if there were remixes of more well known tunes such as "Outrageous," "Stronger," or "Boys," rather than the remixes for the lesser known album tracks "Touch of My Hand" and "Breathe on Me." "B In The Mix" includes no special booklet, no new pictures and no written introduction or new liner notes from Britney. It would make a nice gift for a Britney Spears fan or a person who enjoys club remixes.
WOW!!! THANKS BRIT November 25, 2005 D. Carlton (chgo, il United States) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
what can i say? this album is awesome! not only does it contain SEVEN previously unreleased remixes, it also contains a brand new song - AND THEN WE KISS! this is a full-length remix album and is simply the best. since going on "hiatus" brit has been quite generous. the bonus audio cds of the in the zone and chaotic dvds, the THREE previously unreleased songs on her greatest hits, AND NOW THIS DISC!!!!! I LOVE U BRITNEY, THANKS FOR UR GIFT OF MUSIC :)
Good remixes! :) November 30, 2005 Angelic Devil (Planet Earth) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
BRITNEY SPEARS B IN THE MIX: THE REMIXES--- U.S. VERSION 1---Toxic (Peter Rauhofer Reconstruction Mix Edit) 6:45: This is actually an remix edit, yet it lasts for almost seven minutes. However, this is a pretty good remix for someone like Peter Rauhofer. I was never a big fan of his remixes - the only one I really liked was his one for American Life (the American Anthem Part 2). This is quite a good remix, though, even if it isn't fantastic. If you are a fan of Rauhofer's remixes, however, this is a must-listen. 4/5 stars. 2---Me Against The Music featuring Madonna (Justice Remix) 4:01: This one is weird. I must confess, I prefer the original version...ALOT. I'm glad Britney called Madonna back for this remix, as some of the remixes for this track haven't included Madge (like the one on the In The Zone DVD/CD combo). The music is very good, though I reckon the vocals are all over the place. It's not as good as the Toxic remix, but worth a listen. 3.5/5 stars. 3---Touch Of My Hand (Bill Hamel Remix) 5:19: This one is loads better than the original version (originally from her In The Zone album). Bill Hamel really outdone himself on this one! This remix is actually the best out of the three we've heard so far. If you are a massive Britney fan, then you're really missing out here! Futhermore, if you're a huge fan of the song itself, it's another must-listen!! 5/5 stars. 4---Breathe On Me (Jacques Lu Cont's Thin White Duck Mix) 3:55: Let's get this straight, right. It's Stuart Price remixing this, and he is a GENIUS. Seriously, this one's better than the version found on the Greatest Hits: My Prerogative bonus disc! It starts with Britney breathing heavily, and the music is quite tame, but it builds up eventually. Love this one! If you want to check out more from Stuart, check out Madonna's new album (he produced the whole album with her!!). 5/5 stars. 5---I'm A Slave 4 U (Dave Aude Slave Driver Mix) 5:51: When this remix first started, it seemed a bit of a dissapointment to me. As soon as the dance music kicked it, I was rather hooked. I have to admit, though, it's nothing fantastic, or NOTHING compared to the FANTASTIC remix from Chris Cox and co. (Thunderpuss). That remix is by far better, but this one is fair. 3.5/5 stars. 6---And Then We Kiss (Junkie XL Remix) 4:27: Very impressive remix of Britney's most recent song. The dance beat is fantastic and the lyrics are like your average love song, though there's some nice vocals from Britney. If you liked the remix of Outrageous from the bonus disc on her Greatest Hits package, you should be a massive fan of this one. Meh? I like them both, though this one is a DEFINATE improvement. 4.5/5 stars. 7---Everytime (Valentin Remix) 3:25: Fantastic remix. Although it did appear on her Greatest Hits album, on the bonus disc (the exact same version), I love it. Valentin also remixed Christina Augilera's Beautiful a few years back, and these are both great mixes. I recommend you hear them both. 5/5 stars. 8---Early Mornin' (Jason Nevins Remix) 3:38: This one is actually more laid back to something Jason Nevins would normally do (thump!, thump!, thump!). It's a fantastic remix, as it is, though. It could be improved slightly, though on the whole, I think I like it more than the original. If you like Jason Nevins, I recommend you hear this, because it's quite different to something he'd normally do. 4.5/5 stars. 9---Someday (I Will Understand) (Hi Bias Signature Radio Remix) 3:46: Meh? I prefer the original. This one is still a nice remix, but if you liked their remix of Everytime - and believe me, their literally the same (you can't tell them apart!!) - you should be a big fan of this one. It's a nice remix, though, like most remixes on here, could be improved. 4/5 stars. 10---...Baby One More Time (Davidson Ospina 2005 Remix) 4:37: This remix fits into all genres: dancing, relaxing, housework, disco, party - you name it. That's one of the reasons why it's so brilliant. It's by far alot better than the remix made by Ospina before the Millennium, which was great in the first place. This is one of the best remixes on the disc, actually. 5/5 stars. 11---Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know (Hex Hector Club Mix Edit) 8:15: BEST REMIX ON THIS DISC! Hex Hector are absolutely fantastic, and one of my favourite DJs. The full club mix lasts for two minutes longer than this one, and to get it you need to buy the Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know single, which is probably out of print :( Great way to end the album! 5/5 stars. Best remixes: Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know #11, and Touch Of My Hand #3.
Buy this album for And Then We Kiss December 2, 2005 Newton C. Gordon (Fullerton, CA USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This album isn't really worth it, especially since Britney has much better remixes. All of the remixes on the Me Against The Music maxi single were far better than the MATM remix on here, especially the Gabriel & Dresden Mix and the Kanye West Mix. Some of the mixes are good though and perfect to play in clubs. But if you buy this album, seriously, buy it for the new track "And Then We Kiss". This song is pure genius and should be a single. It is dance/chill and would be a great song to release. Britney's vocals are excellent and if she is going in this direction, it really suits her. Download this song from iTunes, you won't be disappointed! It will be interesting to see what the original version of this song sounds like...
