Good "cultural literacy" gift for kids. January 6, 2008 snappity (Maryland) We gave this to our daughter around five years ago, when she was maybe 11. She loved it and played it over and over, and these days often surprises adults by actually knowing these songs. It's also, of course, a great way to populate your iPod with some oldies.
classic tunes..original artists.. July 27, 2007 Kerry O. Burns I ordered this from one of those late at night commercials. I don't usually do that but this one turned out just fine. Good quality, original artists rendition, some classic goodies. This 2 disc collection has some of my favorites, Midnight Train to Georgia, Delta Dawn, Harper Valley PTA, Papa Was A Rolling Stone, Proud Mary. A couple of tunes haven't held up too well to the ages, Billy Don't Be a Hero, The Night Chicago Died, somehow these tunes just don't move like when they first came out. All in all a great collection of songs that tell a story. I listen to it alot.
