4 out of 5 stars all this and a bag of chips   February 24, 2008

it must have been a time when Motown was feeling the loss of one of its consistent hit makers. They must have decided to take advantage of this time and get some of the old hits together. It came out right after the definitive "Where I'm Coming From". It encompasses the many years of finding his way through the Motown machine. Some of these songs are memorable and still ring true as greats, while others were just covers he was obligated to do. I love this album because you can clearly see the maturing of who Stevie would become in the 70's. The anthological order also is interesting.I would reccommend this album to anyone who is trying to understand the music of the mind of one of the greatest artists of the 20th and 21st century. The album didn't get much attention due to the bombshell which was "Talking Book." I still wish they would re-release it on cd.
