 How The White Album should have been presented on CD long ago! September 29, 2008

When I purchased this off of E-Bay, I thought I was buying a copy of the 1998 30th Anniversary edition but instead it turned out to be the Japanese L.P. replica version. It suffices plenty, mainly due to the fact the 30th Anniversary issue would've been used and this one was brand spanking new, OBI and all. Is it remastered? I doubt it, but I do sense some sort of EQ boost in the tracks. The sound quality is a tad better than the 1987 mastered version we've endured all these years. I especially noticed this when I listened to "Revolution 9" on my high quality headphones. It was louder, the sound was widened out, and the stereo panning was not as choppy as on the original CD release. A difference was definately noticeable. I only wish I had waited on this purchase though, because as soon as I bought it I came across the October Mojo magazine article stating that 10 tracks from "The White Album" had been remastered and sounded "better than we had even hoped" to quote the article! November 22nd/25th will be the 40th anniversary of the double album's release (22nd for the U.S. and the 25th for the U.K.), so it's definately time for a proper sounding remaster of this beloved album. Both 1999's "Yellow Submarine Songtrack" and 2003's "Let It Be...Naked" have proved that Beatle remasters can sound absolutely incredible if just given some proper attention and the utmost love and care. Should you get this? I don't know. It's better than the 1987 version I know that much. And heck, you get mini replicas of the four portraits and poster to boot. The original CD didn't have those now did it?!

This is the way the White Album should have been packaged and released on CD in the first place. The packaging is superb with the 4 pictures of each Beatle, a miniature of the original poster and great labels (the old Apple LP label). The sound is crystal clear. A very nice collectible. JUST EXCELLENT! HERE'S WHY : EXACT REPLICA OF THE ORIGINAL 1968 VUNYL RELEASE , RIGHT DOWN TO A LARGE DISPALYABLE FULL POSTER , 4 SEPARATE DISPLAYABLE PICS OF THE INDIVIDUAL PHOTOS ,IN OTHER WORDS THE WAY IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ISSUED ON CD INITIALLY ! BETTER LATE THAN NEVER - OH YEAH THE MUSICS' GREAT TOO .

I don't like using the word Fake in reference to this import. It's release was indigenous to the region for consumers in that particular area. I listened and compared the cd to other White Album cd's I have. I have no complaint on the quality. It's the packaging that really hits the mark no matter how you feel about the quality of recordings. I must agree with the others. THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PACKAGED ALL ALONG. I feel slighted by the releases that are issued here. Even a top quality release here can't hold up to the imported packaging.

WATCH OUT WITH THIS NEW SERIES OF BEATLES WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO BE REMASTERED AND MADE IN JAPAN.
THIS NOT THE CASE THIS IS A FALSE JAPANESE MINI LP. THEY ALL COME FROM LETHONIE ESTONIE AND RUSSIA. THE QUALITY IS OK BUT NOT GOOD AS A JAPANESE. THEY ARE A LOT OF DEFEATS IN THE OVERALL PRESENTATION. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IT'S ABSOLUTELY NOT REMASTERED AND THE SOUND IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL EVEN BELOW. ALSO THOSE CDs ARE NOT IN CLOSEABLE PLASTIC ENVELOPPE AS ALL JAPANESE CD. EVEN BRAND NEW THEY HAD SCRATCHS AND ARE NOT CLEAN.
AS A COLLECTOR OF JAPANESE MINI LP WHO BOUGHT THIS ONE I ASSURE YOU THIS IS A FAKE.
