Anything Aaliyah's voice touched was platinum. This is her first CD that really showed she wasn't here messing around. Age Aint' Nothing but a number showed little to us about the artist she really was. She was very boxed in by the producer of that album. One In a million was really the turn around for Aaliyah. Ever since that album, she did what she wanted to do--and she did it VERY well. She will be remembered for this Album. It is very nice to see that Blackground chose to re-release this album for two reasons. First because they recognized that this really was a flat out classic. But for another reason, it shows these lame artists out here that an album that came out in 1996 can HANG with today's music. These artists' CDs are gonna be forgotten by 2005. I've been listening to One In a Million since '96 and it ain't stopped. EVERYONE NEEDS TO STEP UP. 'Liyah's still running ish in '04. Rest in Peace

A Very Worthy Re-Issue October 14, 2004 Dorrie Wheeler 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
"One In A Million" originally released by Aaliyah in 1996 when she was a mere 17 or 18 years old was a very mature album for someone who was still a teenager. The 2004 reissue of this album is a nice tribute to the fallen R&B songstress. "One In A Million" had several popular radio hits including, "4 Page Letter," the title track "One In A Million," the first single, "If Your Girl Only Knew," "The One I Gave My Heart To," and the song "Hot Like Fire." Videos were released for all of these songs hopefully all of Aaliyahs videos will also make it to DVD one day. Some of the great songs on the album including "Choosey Lover," Part 1 and 2, "Never Giving Up," and the outro track "Came To Give Love," this album was also the first time Aaliyah teamed up with Missy and Timbaland. This re-issue includes the 2003 hit song "Come Over" which features tank.
