Looking To Whitney Remixed December 3, 2009 Michael Kerner (Brooklyn, New York U.S.A.) There is no doubt about the strength fo Whitney Houston's return to the spotlight. With the success of her comeback album I Look To You, not only debut at #1 on the Billboard charts and selling more copies than any of her previous records the opening week, but striking #1 at a whopping 6 countries all around the world. Not only that, but with the album just as of yesterday, being of the last records to have been certified platinum just last night by the RIAA, all the doubts about Whitney Houston delivering again have been demolished. There is no question about it, now there are those that just want to dance to remixes of her songs.
I Look To You: The Remixes is a simple and down to Earth MP3 Album that includes remixes of Whitney's strongest songs from her #1 album I Look To You including the #1 Dance Song Million Dollar Bill, I Didn't Know My Own Strength and the title track, I Look To You. The songs here actually sound surprisingly well in remixed editions, especially the Frankie Knuckles remix of Million Dollar Bill, that actually have a lot of shine, which is absolutely a shock to me because many of Whitney's songs that have been remixed in the past, haven't showcased a real distinction as the original version. Yet, with all of the great songs from I Look To You have shown heart and soul for Whitney Houston, I was honestly a bit surprised that some of her other songs from the album could've gotten the remixed treatment here that actually didn't like her duet with Akon on Like I Never Left, and her rendition of A Song For You, which has that strong makings, because of how uptempo Whitney made it on the album.
While I do honestly wish that some of her other tracks were on this package, I Look To You: The Remixes is a simple and straight-forward fan favorite package for any Whitney Houston fan to have in the MP3 Music library. If you love to Dance to Whitney's music all throughout the years, than you'll definitely be interested in this remix package. It honestly is better than any of the remixes that other acts like Mariah Carey and Beyonce' have shown in their songs, just by the beauty of the voice within that only Whitney could accomplish.
