Cascada's creative covers - US Edition March 25, 2008 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
German group Cascada's second album goes back to what they're really good at - covering popular songs and transforming them into Eurodance hits. Being dance music, many of the tracks have similar driving beats, but this album WILL make you want to go clubbing, or at least jig(gle) around the house a little.
The first single is "What Hurts the Most", originally a country song sung by Mark Wills, and the second is the original "What Do You Want From Me?" Also look for the cover of "Because the Night" (Patti Smith), and "Runaway", "Perfect Day" and the ballad (yes, ballad) "Could It Be You?" which showcases the strong vocals of Natalie Horler.
This is the US edition of this album which has a different track list to the UK version. The songs "I Will Believe It", "SK8er Boi" (Avril Lavigne), "Just Like a Pill" (P!nk) and "Endless Summer" aren't included on this album, and the tracks "Faded", "Holiday" and "Dream On Dreamer" aren't on the UK version. Personally I'd go for the baker's dozen on the UK album.

Near Perfect March 4, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have always loved Cascada's voice - so beautiful and pure. I do have to say that sometimes it is overpowered by the heavy bass and beats. The songs can be a bit repetitive and predictable. I have to admit that I like this CD better than `Everytime We Touch' - which I was pretty disappointed in. This CD is the perfect dance CD but, I would like to hear her voice showcased more because it is such a great one.
"What Hurts The Most" is, in my opinion, my favorite song on here (both versions). The piano mix is beautiful and really shows what a great voice she has! "Could It Be You" is a very melodic slower song that grabs your attention and draws you in. Very nice.
All in all, there are a few things lacking here but, it is a CD that adds something to my collection and it will to yours too. A great, fun dance CD.

hmm not that good March 8, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
i loved the every time we touch cd but this one its pretty much the same, she should be more creative fans deserve that, plus if she keeps doing the same thing over n over again she will go down n sink. I dont like her slow songs n this CD has lots of them. I like the upbeat ones, the ones that make you dance.
Nearly as good as the first album March 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
3/23/08 - After being teased for months with Rascal Flatts' cover and 1st single "What Hurts The Most," Cascada (Natalie Horler + producers Yann "Yanou" Peifer and Manuel Reuter) unleashes their follow up to the wildly successful "Everytime We Touch" album. As of this writing, Cascada is the most successful German act worldwide right now and has enjoyed record breaking download figures and many awards since their debut.
The "typical Cascada sound" is an upbeat dance cut that opens with a mellow ballad-like segment kicking into a hard driving beat at 1st chorus interspersed with thick synth-driven transitions. While this formulaic approach does make for a consistent dance album, it tends to force the defining mark of the best tracks to be melody.
Standout songs sporting the typical Cascada sound are "Who Do You Think You Are" (not an M-People cover), the very catchy "Dream on Dreamer" and "Runaway," second single "What Do You Want From Me," and the aforementioned "What Hurts The Most," featuring some pleasant acoustic guitar woven into the mix. There are a couple of decent ballads ("Could it be You" & the Candlelight mix of "What Hurts The Most") thrown in for good measure. Interestingly, there are numerous import versions that include up to four additional (non-remix) titles that we don't get on this US edition.
But the most exciting thing for me as a dance music fan are a few tracks that vary slightly from the Cascada formula yet are still enjoyable dance songs. "Holiday" (a slower tempo, fun. girl-power number--and not a Madonna cover by the way), and "Faded" (with its more Ian Van Dahl or Da Buzz feel). My only complaint here is the done-to-death cover of Patti Smith's "Because The Night." Although not much new ground has been broken here, Perfect Day is a solid follow up that shouldn't disappoint Cascada fans coming back for more. See cascada-music.de for more info. --Kurt Kirton
A great voice can only do so much March 8, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I first heard Cascada's first cd "Everytime We Touch", I loved it right away. Her vocals were a breath of fresh air for me and there were like 2 songs I really didn't care for. With this new cd, it leaves a lot to be desired. It sounds a lot like her last cd. This was a very disappointing album but there are a few songs that are worth hearing.
