Album Description Part Two of Two. Enhanced five track CD pressing of this single pulled from the British female Pop band's Tangled Up album. On the single, Nicola, Cheryl, Sarah, Kimberley and Nadine team up with Xenomania as they cut 'n' paste a mix of sounds and styles to create another irresistible Pop classic in the making. Features four versions of 'Can't Speak French' (Radio Edit, French Version, Passions Remix and Enhanced Video) plus 'With Every Heartbeat' (Radio One Live Lounge). Polydor.

Another good b-side from the girls March 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
"Can't Speak French" is the 18th single from Girls Aloud and it brings them one step closer to the 20th single mark. This is the 3rd release from the girls' fourth studio album Tangled Up. It has been redone for the single release, which actually makes the single worth buying.
Since this is a 2 track single, it can only get a maximum of 4 stars. Here's my rundown:
01. Can't Speak French [Radio Edit] The radio edit of CSF is vastly different from the version on Tangled Up. It is over a minute shorter and the song is slightly remixed to a good effect. Every girl gets a part to sing and the chorus is really catchy. This radio edit actually made me love the song. With a very catchy hook for the chorus ("I can't speak french, so I'll let the funky music do the talking"), this is a winner and strong candidate for GA's best single yet. (5/5)
02. Hoxton Heroes GA's newest b-side, this was actually a song that was deemed too controversial to go on Tangled Up. Here it appears as a b-side and I'm glad it has. This song makes fun of the indie music genre and indie bands in general, with scathing lyrics and a wry sense of humour. It's in the same vein as tracks from Tangled Up and it's not that bad, it could have fitted in nicely on the album. A winner. (5/5)
I would say this single is a very high 4 star as both tracks are new and great. Brilliant stuff.
(PS: Another great cover! The girls look great)
