Guilty Pleasure November 15, 2008 Diego (Miami, FL) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This is a fun CD with a lot of Hilary's best singles, but there was definitely room for at least 5 more tracks. Her two new songs "Reach Out" and "Holiday" are excellent, but where are "Beat of My Heart" & "Our Lips are Sealed"?
It's obvious Hollywood Records was being cheap because not only did they not put enough songs on this compilation but they didn't even bother taking new pictures for the album artwork. These pictures are from the UK version of her last CD, Dignity.
C'mon Hollywood Records! December 6, 2008 iPod Fan 3 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This CD brings back a lot of memories. In 2003-05 Hilary Duff was my favorite artist! But this tracklisting is just plain disappointing.
Even though I'm not a big fan of her anymore, I loved Dignity. I was hoping she would release another dance-pop album. Instead, Hollywood Records decided to release her second compilation after only three albums.
They could have used this chance to put out a really good best of, since 'Most Wanted' seemed like just a bunch of random songs by her, or something like a dance mix album of her biggest hits, to go with her new music style. Instead, they listed strictly the most popular singles from each of her albums.
It begins with two new tracks, "Reach Out (and Touch Me)" and "Holiday." The former is the semi-sexual lead single. Then we get all three singles from Dignity ("Stranger", "With Love", "Play With Fire"), only one from Most Wanted ("Wake Up"), only one from Hilary Duff ("Fly") and three from Metamorphosis ("Come Clean (Non-Album Remix)", "So Yesterday", "Why Not") and then remixes of the new tracks.
But missing are the soundtrack songs that made her career, like "Our Lips Are Sealed", "What Dreams Are Made Of", and her singing debut "I Can't Wait" from the Lizzie Soundtrack would have been a wonderful addition! Also missing are the radio singles "Beat of my Heart", "Someone Watching Over Me", and the Radio Disney singles like "The Math" and "Girl Can Rock."
Here should be the tracklisting:
1. Reach Out
2. Holiday
3. Stranger
4. With Love
5. Play With Fire
6. Beat of My Heart
7. Wake Up
8. Someone's Watching Over Me
9. Fly
10. Our Lips Are Sealed
11. Girl Can Rock
12. The Math
13. Come Clean (Original Album Version)
14. So Yesterday
15. What Dreams Are Made Of
16. Why Not
17. I Can't Wait
18. Reach Out (Remix)
MY RATING: 3 - 4 for the songs, 2 for the tracklisting.
Double-Disaster... November 12, 2008 PlanetHell (USA unfortunately) 13 out of 17 found this review helpful
I must start off that I am a huge Hilary Duff fan.
But what is with this CD? Yes, I know Hollywood Records dumped her, but they couldn't do any better than this?
This album should have at least 20 tracks and it has 12.
There's no reason they couldn't have added some of the soundtrack songs (Crash World, Now You Know, or Why Not (Radio Disney Edit).
The only good thing about it are the two new songs "Reach Out" and "Holiday."
So why aren't these songs available for download on Amazon?
That's where the double-disaster comes in; is there no way to own these songs (and pay the artist) without being completly ripped off?
All in all, do not purchase this album unless you have no other Hilary Duff material, and even then, you'd be better off buying Most Wanted.
I reccomend Dignity, Metamorphisis, and Hilary Duff (self-titled) instead.
DO NOT support a bad recording company like "Hollywood Records."
The Best! November 17, 2008 Nathanishot 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love Hilary Duff! Her music is really good and this collection of singles is great! This was her last CD with Hollywood Records so they threw together a best of/greatest hits CD to end her 5 CD contract. If you own all of her other cds buying this one might feel like a waste. But there are 5 new songs on this CD that you can only get with buying the whole cd. These songs are "Reach Out" "Holiday" "Come Clean (Remix)" "Reach Out (Remix)" "Holiday (Remix)"
Her new songs "Reach Out" and "Holiday" are amazing and I can't wait to hear future music from Hilary! The "Come Clean (Remix)" is really good too and breathes new life and a new sound into an old track! The older songs are still amazing and it's cool to have them all on one CD. Also the pictures in the CD Booklet are so pretty!
Bottom Line : This is a good buy if you want her new songs or don't have all her CD's and just want the singles. I recommend it to any Hilary Duff fan or anyone who likes good pop music! :)
I Love Hilary! November 17, 2008 BJay (Hilliard, OH) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I didn't used to like Hilary Duff in her "Lizzie McGuire" days. But, close to when the show was in its last season, I started to watch it more frequently.
I used to like "So Yesterday" a little bit, but I loved "Come Clean."
I became a certified "fan" when she released her DIGNITY album. I love all the songs on that album, and still listen to it today...a lot!
She is such a great singer, I love her voice! She is so pretty, and looks way better with dark hair.
This BEST OF HILARY DUFF album is really great! And I love the "Holiday (Remix)," it is the best song on the album!
I hate how Hollywood Records never wants to promote their artists, except for Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers. That's why I hate them! They did the same thing they did to Raven-Symone on her latest self-titled album, now they're doing it to Hilary!
Such a shame!!!
