    Editorial Reviews:

    Product Description
Recorded two months prior to his death, this album contains nearly forty minutes of previously unreleased stand-up material. It pulses with Mitch's inimitable wit and spirit, it's a document of a comedy master, and it's a treat for all those who were afraid they'd never get to hear another great Hedberg joke.

    Album Description
Explicit Version. One of comedy's tragic anti-heroes, Mitch Hedberg was considered by many to be poised to become stand-up's first huge break-out star of the post-Jerry Seinfeld era. Hedberg was a stridently apolitical performer who rarely used profanity, and whose routine consisted of strange, off-kilter one-line observations delivered in a relaxed slacker style that made him something of a Steven Wright for the Kurt Cobain generation. Hedberg had a huge cult following and recorded two brilliant comedy albums before succumbing to a drug overdose in 2005.

5 out of 5 stars A welcome voice from the past   September 9, 2008

Newcomers to Mitch Hedberg's work and fans of wonderfully random inspired one-liner comedy will love this album.

Those others of us such as myself who have teased out all of his possible albums, That 70's Show appearances, Jimmy Johns commercials and internet-pressed botlegs will also love this album, being the dedicated won-over souls that we are.

Despite a fair deal of "old" material on this album (the odd one-liner that will be familiar, but a classic) there's enough new material and random off-hand banter that was Mitch's befuddled trademark to sustain it.

The album will serve to remind every fan of just how much this unique comedian, who really didn't just entertain but make people happy, is and will be missed.

5 out of 5 stars A rough draft of what was to be another great comedy album   September 13, 2008

I am big fan of Mr. Hedberg. The album material is very honest about its content that it is a rough draft. It is 39 minutes long. Though the material is not all good, it is a pleasure to hear him again with almost all new material. I especially enjoyed aspects of its "rough draftness", how he handled hecklers (which is a real highlight of the album) how some of his jokes bombed but how he recovers with wit and honesty. There is a great deal of his material that is as good as his previous stuff and overall I am glad I have this.

5 out of 5 stars Great CD By a Great Comedian   September 12, 2008

I really had to get my comments on the first page of the reviews. I'm not sure why the first reviewer used the term "scatological" - Mitch is anything but. Probably someone trying to impress with big words. Beyond spell check, some people need a dictionary to actually look up the MEANING of a word. Cripes!

There is NOTHING "scatological" about this CD, or Mitch. The guy was (so sad he's gone) brilliant. My favorites are Mitch coming out of another "think about it" bit, gauging the audience's initial stunned silence, that almost always turns into roaring laughter.

Certainly, the "EXPLICIT" warning is understandable. He drops a few eff's and ess's in his routine, but no more than any current comedian.

5 stars - because I love Mitch and this CD. You can argue that it's not 5 because his type of humor doesn't suit you. But if it does, you will not be disappointed.

    Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Proof of genius   September 10, 2008

Mitch Hedberg died way before his time, and this album is proof. It shows the genius of observation and wit that he was. Covering everything from Medusa to chewing gum, this album is really Mitch at his rawest and best. The album also has some really interesting liner notes as it is mostly excerpts from his journal, which really allows you to see Mitch's thought process. Excellent album, definitely worth buying. RIP Mitch.

5 out of 5 stars Nothing left to improve at the improv.   September 10, 2008

This final cd is proof that Mitch was yet to hit his peak. Even though it is just a short rough cut of what might have made up his 3rd cd, it proves that his live material which he vetted everyday was just as good as his recorded material (this cd is just excerpts from his live performances at the Improv in Ontario). It has 13 tracks (which is a Hedberg joke in itself) that keep you listening from beginning to the all too sudden end. This is a must for any lover of Hedberg's material, as well as anyone wanting a album that's a comedic masterpiece.

This truly was his best work without it even being on purpose... the ultimate Hedberg joke.
