5 out of 5 stars Lil Kim did well on this one...   June 16, 2000

So, Lil Kim is back with Notorious K.I.M. Let's hope that it's as good as "Hardcore", her debut (and slammin) album from back in the 96. It was "Crush On You (remix)" that really set it off (I know you seen me in the video...true!) - that's when I got the album and I was NOT dissapointed at all. Let me break it down for the newcomers:

    1. Intro - Hilarious skit featuring Lil Cease

    2. Big Momma Thang - One of the best songs feat. Jay-Z & Lil Cease

    3. No Time - Her debut single feat. Puff Daddy (song is still hot!)

    4. Spend A Little Doe - O.K...

    5. Take It! - Hilarious Skit w/B.I.G. and Cease

    6. Crush On You - On this version, Cease takes the whole thing, but it's still tight!

    7. Drugs - The beat is sick! Grimy, like Black Rob (this song is one of my personal favs)

    8. Scheamin - some ol, crazy 'skit'!

    9. Queen B@#$H - If you liked "I Can Love You (better than she can...)" from Mary J. Blige, you'll love this song (where Blige got the sample) B.I.G. has a cool one line verse in here!

    10. Dreams - Hilarious! She's callin out names on this song about who's hot and who's not!

    11. M.A.F.I.A. Land - kinda serious, like 2Pac's early stuff

    12. We Don't Need It - just plain naughty (I liked the version on the Sunset Park soundtrack better though)

    13. Not Tonight - (The original of Ladies Night...very So So Def-ish, with JD all over it)

    14. Player Haters - skit

    15. **** You - A cool peek into Junior Mafia - they should do another album!

So, as you can see, I liked this album so much I broke it down by track! This album is probably the best (consistently) by a female MC recently. Yes, it's nasty and arguably derogatory to women, but if you take it like it is, ENTERTAINMENT, then you'll enjoy. Lil Kim will have a tough act to follow for this one. Stay tuned for my review of Notorious K.I.M...

    Knyte. (Trust Me)

    1 out of 5 stars Trash   May 6, 2005

Been at least ten years since BWP put female hip hop on the map, and this comes nowhere near them, (and that wasn't brilliant) and this is the best female hip hop has to offer? Come on, it's trash. This is male type sex hip hop done by a woman. It's DULL!!! It's been done thousands of times before, and better. The music is rubbish, and the lyrics are really really old and tired.

What does this release have to say? Nothing! When are we gonna get some women with balls!

Hip hop used to be challenging, groundbreaking, funky, intelligent, offensive, funny, dangerous even!

I feel like I've wasted half an hour of my life that I could have been listening to something else!

    Bin!

Hopefully Lil Kim's recent conviction and jail sentencing will end this so called career. It's sad that human garbage like this could sell even one record. But the truth is, is she has sold her soul to the devil at the expense of millions of young and impressionable kids, mainly African-American who quite frankly would be better off without such terrible role models.

So I'm looking at Lil' Kim's new album cover and she looks like a black Pamela Anderson. I dunno what's wrong with her but she has went downhill appereance wise. Lil Kim and her fans are confused. This woman and every other female rapper nowadays thinks that being called a b**ch is some kind of empowerment and dressing like a porn star is sexy. Now they have young girls thinking less clothing equal make you more appealing and sexier. Then these artists have the nerves to sit down and try to explain their image trying to convince people what their doing is not wrong. There is nothing to explain, what you see is what you get. Wasnt Kim the same chick talking about Money Power and Respect? News Flash -- You dont get respect you have to earn it and she's definitely not doing a good job in that department. Believe it or not Lil Kim has influenced alot of female MC's and young people around the world and if I was Lil Kim, I would feel horrible. She has the nerve to call on God but then turn around and lead young women into deception. Where are the strong black women at because I dunno what's going on today. People love to flip negativity around and make it postive, it's ridiclus, just like Lil Kim's music. Pure mindless filth. I cant even believe that people who follow this garbage will be our future parents. I dunno how this world is going to exist with a generation full of braindead people.

...or female hustlas. Why don't Kim just drop the formalities and just do adult videos? By going that route, she just may save herself from the diminished returns/planned obsolescence laws quite evident for rap artists and their products. Just may...
