Masterful - A must for both Christian & heathen alike May 23, 2000 Craig Gradidge (South Africa) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I spent 9 years searching for this CD here in South Africa. One search on Amazon and now I am the proud new owner of THE best Christmas CD to grace this planet. The soul, the feeling, the harmony, the emotion - I will certainly treasure this CD for years to come. Silent Night on this CD is easily THE best song I have heard in my entire life. And I am a music fan of note. Do yourself a favour.
year round enioyment March 17, 1999 9 out of 14 found this review helpful
You'd usally expect to hear this type of music around xmas, but if you listen, really listen, you'll find this is a collection of songs good for anytime enjoyment. Lil drummer boy is the best rendition I've ever heard. this piece makes me want to see a marching band do it. Dennis; with his gruff and soulful sound, a God given gift, as he once told me. Richard; if silk could sing, this what it would sound like. Glenn; close your eyes and listen to an angel up there. Ty; fills in with the same beautiful sound that Eddie made famous (no disrespect to TY). Otis; so tight, such harmoney, like filling in with the right ingredients to a souffle'. And of course Melvin; "Blue" to those who knew him. I am blessed to say that I am one of those. That style of his is legendary ,his voice and delivery has always been earth shaking. All together you have symphony any time you listen to any "temptations" music. Harry; one of the newest members, has some big shoes to fill, And that he does very well . Thank you Harry, you do my friend justice. Give love always

I HAVE LISTENED TO XMAS ALBUMS/CD'S FOR YEARS AND HAVE FOUND THIS CD TO BE THE BEST EVER WHEN IT COMES TO HOLIDAY MUSIC. IT IS NOT CHRISTMAS IN MY HOME UNTIL THE TEMPTATIONS "GIVE LOVE AT CHRISTMAS" ALBUM/CD IS PLAYED. IT IS A TRADITION TO START PLAYING THIS ALBUM DECEMBER 15TH.
Stands up to the test of time June 27, 2005 John Sloan (right there) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The Temptations recorded this one in 1980, a little after their commercial prime. Even though they were no longer topping the pop charts, this is even better than their "Christmas Card" album from 10 years earlier. They chose a more interesting selection of songs this time around, instead of just relying mainly on the standards. The arrangements are good, and their voices are all in ine form. The only fault is that there are only eight songs, but since it is so reasonable priced, that is not really a big deal.
