Amazon.com In what looks like another bid for canonization and extreme groovy hipness at the holidays, Rosie O'Donnell sends up in grand style and taste her second annual record of Christmas songs to benefit the For All Kids Foundation. The CD features a sleigh-load of leading contemporary acts and a couple of powerhouses from yesteryear. With more than $1 million going in advance to the foundation--plus proceeds from the 14 artists who sing solo or in collaboration with her bad self--who could even begin to criticize such a magnanimous project? Not even good ol' Santa Claus. Some of the coolest collaborative performances here include a rocking Smash Mouth workout of "Nuttin for Christmas," Macy Gray's delightfully raspy "Winter Wonderland," Billy Gillman's (inevitable) "I'm Gonna E-mail Santa," and a live-in-Detroit version of Robert Earl Keen's recent raucous country classic "Merry Christmas from the Family" with the Dixie Chicks. Donna Summer disco-steps to the appropriate "Rosie Christmas" and Ricky Martin threatens to upstage everyone, including solo performances from Jewel, fellow Latino Marc Anthony, and Barry Manilow. But it's the mesmerizing lyrics and vocal gymnastics of Destiny's Child on the hip-pop song "Spread a Little Love at Christmas" that puts Another Rosie over the top. --Martin Keller

Another Rosie Christmas October 28, 2000 Cindy A. Morgan (Rapid City, SD USA) 17 out of 20 found this review helpful
I think this collection of Christmas songs meets and surpasses the original cd. Rosie has a knack for knowing what's good! She chooses great celebrities to sing with. For all you Rosie Christmas cd lovers, I hope she continues to make new cd's each Holiday Season.I rate this cd as 5 stars. Nothing but the best for the best!!
It's a Rosie Christmas! October 29, 2000 Frankie B (Chicago, IL) 16 out of 20 found this review helpful
I REALLY enjoyed this CD. I did not buy the last, but will definitely now. I really enjoyed Donna Summer's new self- written tune, A Rosie Christmas. It's a Fab dance tune that happens to be about Christmas. I thought this song really stood out as one of the best on this CD along with the grand Linda Eder, Billy Gilman, and the hilaroius tune by the Dixie Chicks. This is truly a GREAT Christmas CD and it happens to benefit a children's charity. Get this CD NOW!! You don't know what you are missing.

I'm sorry, the artists may be good, but anything Rosie is involved with seems to turn into garbage. She has poisoned this otherwise good endeavor with her crash commercialism. If you think you're doing something good, because some of the proceeds go to charity, remember that the bulk of it goes into Rosie's pockets...if you want to do something real this Christmas, help out the homeless directly, like I do every week. Do yourself a favor and get a good Christmas album, like the one by Rik Emmett. Don't forget how hypocritical Rosie is with her "charity". She is the one that said on national TV at the Million Mom March that she wants all guns banned from everyone...then turns around and hires a bodyguard for her family who carries a handgun. Sorry Rosie, I can't afford to hire an armed gunman, I spend too much time at the homeless shelter. Pass on this masquerade.
Oh No! It's Rosie O'Donnel! December 17, 2000 Todd Gray (Holt, Michigan United States) 8 out of 21 found this review helpful
As we have all seen, Rosie is a bad mother. Her youngest child recently broke his leg due to neglect from Rosie being off in the other room counting her money. As we have also seen, and unfortunatly heard, she is an incredibly sub-par singer. If she has a thought on something she will not talk about it like the normal people in this world, she will "write" a song about it and have it go with the same music of one of her many favorite Broadway shows. This CD demonstrates how lazy Rosie is. There are only about half of these tracks that have Rosie on them, not that i am complaining. She also only selects the artists that we all have heard a thousand or more times on the local radio. Why be so superficial? why don't you work with some musical acts that are not as mainstream, and come up with some songs that are actually innovative, not just the same kind of music that we can all hear on the Top 40 countdown.

It was more enjoyable listening to the "barking dogs sing Christmas songs" then listening to her. It makes a great gag gift for your freinds though. Beware, they will want to retaliate!
