2 out of 5 stars The Dark Side   January 8, 2001

Suddenly, David Byrne uses his powers for Evil instead of Good. Sad, sad, sad. Avoid this one and listen to any other Byrne album (except the self-titled one) and you'll hear an artist when he had something to say and was good saying it.

4 out of 5 stars "Feelings" is worth your attention   September 11, 2005

this takes a few listens to get accustomed to. but once you get settled, it's a nice ride. tropicalia, electronica, folktronica(?) alot of unique influence and it could have been a giant mess. but david pulls it together to form a cohesive album whose results are touching, and sometimes humorous. my favorite song would no doubt be "A Soft Seduction." great lyrics to that one. the cover and design concept is also quite great. my only complaint is that it could have been alot more streamlined and better if it were about 3-4 songs less. but all the songs are nice and it would have been hard to choose the ones to leave off. good go, then!

    3 out of 5 stars It's OK.   May 15, 1998

This CD doesn't work that well for me. Many of the song seem to drone a bit. I think I like vocals that are a little more musical. That said, I still have played this CD multiple times. I guess maybe I like it a little better than I'm admitting. :>)

5 out of 5 stars This Cd is one of my new favorite albums.   May 31, 1998

David Byrne consistently produces music that is remarkable in feeling, style and quality. This album is no exception. He is not afraid to comment on anything. I bought FEELINGS for one song, but now, find myself humming the others, even when the album is not playing. David Byrne's music is always different and exciting. That is why I liked this album so much. While others may try to duplicate music styles, Byrne always reinvents and experiments with new ideas. I am never bored by this or any other of his works. Give it a try.

4 out of 5 stars Feelings. Very positive.   December 8, 1998

Innovative, fresh and somehow light-as-a-feather, David Byrne's Feelings proved - to me - his most satisfying solo effort so far. The disc effortlessly combines touches of techno, Latin, country, and even goth into a cohesive listening experience. All this and clever lyrics too. Dance on Vaseline is the track that really stands out. Byrne's best stuff has always been dark (Swamp) and on this one he even manages to sound like Roger Waters. It's also good to see the Devo guys recording again. The disc as a whole, leaves a smile on my face.
