5 out of 5 stars This is NOT her new cd!   June 18, 2002

I keep hearing people saying that they got her 'new cd' and it's horrible. This is not her new cd. She recorded these songs when she was 14 and she didn't want it released. I agree some of the songs are repetitive and a bit boring, but some of these are great. I really like Just Be Free; it's a nice dance song with a good beat and i like the way she sings on it. I also really like Believe Me. It is a meaningful song and i can see people relating to it. you can tell she contributed to the writing of that one cause it talks about being excluded cause you are different, and that's what kids did to her when she was younger. Listen to the words and you can tell. Move It is a good song, both the dance mix and the regular one. I like Running Out Of Time and By Your Side also. The spanish version of Just Be Free is good; you can hear her rapping in spanish in the background and it sounds really cool. Even though these aren't the best songs, her voice is good. She was only 14 and you can hear how mature her voice is. She sounds like she does now only a teeny bit different and not as powerful. But the talent is there.

1 out of 5 stars How Embarissing For Christina   April 18, 2005

I'm a fan of Christina Aguilera's albums released on RCA, but this one is just terrible. There's a good reason she didn't want this released! The songs are scrambled, and the vocals are pitchy. The intial tune of the songs are bad, and Christina doesn't even look attractive on the cover. (Which shouldn't matter but everyone knows it does.) Maybe it would make a good frisby.

1 out of 5 stars IF this isn't WHAT THE GIRL WANTS...It isnt for me   June 14, 2001

I respect Christina Aguilera and her decision. What exactly is a demo? Well, basically they are songs recorded to have your voice known among record companies. All singers have made them and WARLOCK records has the nerve to try to take some sunlight from Ms. Aguilera herself? Unbelievable. Her voice in these songs: NOT FULLY DEVELOPED. The actual songs: NOT FULLY DEVELOPED. If you honestly love Christina Aguilera, you wont buy thr cd that could tarnish her reflection. Do the right thing...even if JUST BE FREE is handed to me for free...I wont take it. Will you? I hope not!

2 out of 5 stars Nothing like her debut album...   October 12, 2001

When I first heard just be free via the internet, I thought it was a pretty cool song, so I went out and got this cd. The only songs I think are good are just be free(original), by your side, our day will come, believe me, and dream a dream is "so-so". The only thing I don't like about dream a dream is the backup singers on the chorus. They remind me of The Three Tenors or something along those lines. After dream a dream it all really goes downhill. I think she still sings well like she does now, but half the tracks sound like you're listening to one super-long song. They don't really stand out. I can't really blame Christina for not wanting this album on the market. Well, that's my honest review. Hope it helps you out!=0)

1 out of 5 stars Just Be Free AINT for me!!   June 17, 2001

This CD is unwanted rubish...even the singer doesn't want it out. This could ruin Christina's career because some NO-NAME group didn't want to miss out on easy "cash." This aint for me...i respect Ms. Aguilera's decision... You should, too!
