    1 out of 5 stars AIN'T IT FUNNY...THAT THIS CD STINKS   July 11, 2002

    J.Lo,J.Lo,J.Lo...

She just doesn't get it! I mean, you have to have talent in order to sing.Yeah Madonna,Janet Jackson, and Paula Abdul may not Carnegie Hall material but Madonna's media savvy and ambition,Janet's chrisma and determation, and Paula's brillant
choregraphy made up for thier "lacking" voices.

J.Lo doesn't seem to really get that.A la this tacky remix collection.Desperate,I-want-a-hit-so-bad hip hop remixes of corny fluff like "I'm Real","Ain't It Funny",and "I'm Goin' Be Alright" with Ja Rule and Nas may get TRL folks whizzing in their pants. But they don't nothing for you or me.

Please J.Lo do yourself and the world a favor and stop embrassing yourself.Mariah Carey may be insane but she can sing and write and peform and she's a nifty dresser, too.
J.Lo,don't say I didn't warn you, because I won't buy this remix album when it's in the bargin bin next year.

2 out of 5 stars JUST FOLLOW WITH ME...   February 14, 2002
5 out of 10 found this review helpful

    OK,first and foremost,I must admit that YES,I am a J-Lo hater.
She's becoming a bit too ubiqtious for my taste and her style-from her clothing to her "music" is bit too preditible and forced for me.BUT...I did find her new remix album,"J To The
    L-O!",a bit intresting.

"J To The L-O!" was released just over a year after Lopez's
second album,"J-Lo" debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts.
    Condience? Yeah,right!
NO,let me get this straight,I am no fan of Jennifer Lopez's music. But some of the remixes on here do cure the stiff vocals,
poor production, and limp writing that bogged down her last two previous studio efforts.

For instance, the Trackmasters do a good reworking of "I'm
Gonna Be Alright",featuring rapper 50 Cent(remember "How To Rob"
from 1999-that same guy) that resuces the originally bland record.
Also top-knotch is the RJ Schoolyard mix of "Love Don't Cost A Thing" and Puffy's(yes,Lopez' ex-beau!) fierce mix of "Feelin'
    So Good"-which features G.Dep.(Question:If Puff-or I'm sorry Diddy-did a remix for J.Lo,does it means they're on good terms?)
The Hex Hector mix of "Waiting For Tonight" has great house feel that's very commerical yet still has a tad of authenic dance flavor.

And I can't mention top-knotch remixes on this album without mentioning J.Lo's homeboy,multi-platinum MC Ja Rule.
J.Lo owes a lot to Ja,I mean he salvaged not one but two of her songs that on the road to descrution.First "I'm Real".
Originally a up-tempo,Pop/R&B jam(that featured vocals from Puff)
got morped by Ja and his Murder Inc. brethen into a slick, laid back groove that gave J.Lo a new direction.Yes,she couldn't sing
but the remix did give her a new direction-of sorts.

    Next up,"Ain't It Funny",originally a faux-Latin dance track,
got transformed into a very, very radio-friendly but likeable
hip hop influenced joint that features a gruff guest rap by
    Cadaliah Tah.

Yet with all the suprisingly high points on "J To The L-O!",
the mishaps were inevitable.A couple bland, uninspired "dance"
mixes could've be excluded and the wannabe-Mariah Carey ballad
"Alive" does nothing but make you cringe(Note to J.LO:Baby, you're not there vocally.Stick to more dance-oriented
    material).

    Alright then,this J-Lo hater/openminded music fan gave J-Lo
a chance and found himself feeling this stuff on here.
I'm still no J-Lo fan but I can say that, some of the mixes on here aren't too bad.

+Music purists-please don't laugh at me.I'm just trying to be as open and diverse as I can be! THANKS

1 out of 5 stars An attempt to sell even more...   October 21, 2002
5 out of 7 found this review helpful

The album with the original versions was good and it sold well so why make a new one with dull remixes? It's commercial and boring hearing songs getting destroyed with bad remixes, and that Ja Rule is rappin on some tracks doesn't make the thing more pleasure. I don't get the point of this, 5 minutes of this junk was enough for me.

1 out of 5 stars What The Heck?!   March 4, 2002

Ok, first of all, I need to admit that I do have a Jennifer Lopez CD--the very first one "On The 6." It was a good one. But now J. LO (what a great abbreviated name, sounds sick) just comes out with bad stuff. Sorry, th Ain't It Funny remix is just pure garbage. The I'm Real remix is boring to listen to now. J. LO canNOT sing. Way to go, J. LO. Still big now huh? Don't worry, you won't have to suffer from being so big soon. There's no "0 star" for the CD rating, so I gave this a 1.
