THE FIRST ALBUM WAS AWESOME! THE SECOND ALBUM 'LISTEN' ONLY ADDED TO THEIR TALENT, ' THE STORY OF A YOUNG HEART' WAS ICING ON THE CAKE! BECAUSE OF THEIR UNIQUE SOUND, THE AWESOMENESS OF THEIR MUSIC CANNOT BE DUPLICATED! A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS IS BY FAR, ONE OF THE MOST AWESOME BANDS OF ALL TIME!~

Wishing is another 80's classic, but there is a little less to back up this album than there self titled debut.

This is the bottom line: If you like New-Wave/Electronic music of the early eighties and you had no idea who A Flock Of Seagulls were or had no way of associating them with the way they looked or their MTV status, then you would like this album. A very undderrated band for sure, this album is awesome especially for (It's Not Me) Talking, Wishing, Nightmares, and The Traveller. I'll admit the bonus B-Sides arent the greatest but the live version of I Ran is excellent and the orginal album holds up very well. I dont think its my absolute favorite but it ties with their first album( DNA and Messages are two of my favs). The guitar and keyboard sound so good together it really creates a timeless feel, even for a New Wave band. This album speaks for itsself(and its era). Do as the album title implies...good cd. Nuff said

In the year 1983, we were introduced to (among other things)both Listen by A Flock of Seagulls AND the CD. So why it took 22 years for Listen to come out on CD (and why we were stuck with nothing but 'best hits' albums by A Flock on CD during this time)is quite beyond my comprehension. But as they say, better late than never. Now I have to agree that it would have been FAR better to include the omitted songs than get another version of I Ran (like you can't find this song in enough places already). But I guess we just have to take what we can get. And an actual CD beats scratchy old vinyl (or a CD-R made from scratchy old vinyl) ANY DAY. If you like A Flock Of Seagulls, or if you just like New Wave in general (Admit it, you do. After all, you entered A Flock Of Seagulls as a search parameter. And Deftones and Linkin Park fans don't do this!), this CD is a must-have. Give your turntable a rest and hear this album WITHOUT the pops and scratches!

This release has got to be one of the most underated achievments of the 80's New Wave phenomena. Unlike their debut, Flock of Seagulls explore darker, more disturbing territory with these tracks, though they throw in just enough of their trademark pop hooks to make it their own. I think Mike Score must have been listening to alot of Joy Division and Suicide when he put these songs together, however, the rest of the lads joined ranks to smooth it out and give it that ever so polished sheen. Highlights include the classic "Wishing", the menacing "Nightmares" and the the ever so dark wave inspired "The Traveller". Come to think of it, there really isn't a bad track on this CD, some more sugary then others, but the syrup is often bittersweet for most of it. Essential listening for fans of this genre
