oh my gosh..i am so glad i downloaded the songs online and listen to them before buying them......this album has the weakest vocals i ever heard....even paula abdul did better....ithink this ight be the end of her singing career..... she is only getting older and she cant dance like this forever and sing that bad on every album....she needs a lot oaf back vocals and loud back beats to cover up her no talent voice.......i recommend some one else that has a better album like Mariah Carey..... save your money ...cuz J-LO is not worth your hard-earned money.....

Don't see her movies; Don't buy her music; Don't buy her clothes; Don't buy her perfume.
Pretend she is the plague and little miss sham will go away.
Honest Review...Rebirth Is A Good Album August 30, 2005 14 out of 20 found this review helpful
I don't understand why people come on here and purposefully bash and tell lies about artists and albums just because they don't like the person. Write honest reviews, not bad reviews just to make an album have few stars. Me...I will write an honest review. In my opinoin, this is probably Jennifer's strongest album to date. Her vocals aren't the best but they aren't the worst either. Is she a Mariah or a Christina? No..but she never claimed to be. The album is simply a fun, up-beat dance/r&b/hip-hop album that we've come to expect from Jennifer.
Get Right- The first single from the album...a hands in the air, butt on the dancefloor, party anthem. The chours is addicting and the horns ring through your ears. If you don't wanna dance when you hear this song then there's something wrong with you. Perfect choice for the first single.
Step Into My World- A sexy, R&B/ tune with a sensual beat and sultry vocals from La Lopez. Unlike anything Jennifer has done or anything Rodney Jerkins has produced. Remixes to this song would be awesome. Should've been the second single...but should definately be a single.
Hold You Down- A hip/hop duet with Fat Joe that tried to re-capture the success of All I Have. The song was the second single from the album, and a poor chocie at that. While the song isn't bad...it simply wasn't the right choice to follow-up Get Right. The remix on the other hand is a hip/hop mid-tempo jam that will have you singing in your car. The remix is what should have been released.
Whatever You Wanna Do- Another dance floor stomper, somewhat similar to Get Right. Produced by Rich Harrison, the beats are all over the place on this funk dance tune. Was expected to be the third single from Rebirth..if released, it would surely explode onto the dance charts.
Cherry Pie- A piece of pop/rock pie. The song has a driving dance beat, with guitars thrown in. Similar to something Prince would've and still would do. Expected to be a single release.
I Got U- A nice, R&B dance tune produced by Rodney Jerkins. Similar to Rodney's work with Brandy. Jennifer's vocals are done quite well in this song.
Still Around- A classic pop song. Reminds you of Jessica Simpson's With You. Has somehwat of a latin vibe to it...I believe it would do extremely well at pop radio.
Ryde or Die- One of the best songs on the album. A R&B slow jam, with haunting vocals and a thumping chours. Cool sound effects are done to Jennifer's vocals to add enhancement to the song.
I, Love- A mid-tempo R&B shuffler. Another stand-out track from the album. Has somewhat of an electronica feel to the song.
He'll Be Back- Produced by Timberland, remincent of his work with other artists. A slow jam about a man leaving and the yearning for him to return. Jennifer's vocals are top notch on this song, likely because she could relate to the words. Several people could relate to this song.
(Can't Believe) This Is Me- The most shocking song on the album. Apparently Jennifer recorded this song in one take and the results are awesome. The vocals in this song are so real and with one listen you know exactly who and what this song is about. Another heartbreaking ballad and one many can relate to.
Get Right(remix w/Fabulous)- The same song as the first one, just with F-A-B rapping at the beginning and in the middle. Would've been better if this was the hip/hop mix of the song.
I hope this review helps those that are looking for an honest review. I'm not a huge Jennifer fan, but I do enjoy her music and wanted to set the record straight. This is an album worth listening to if you've ever enjoyed any of her previous work.
why? March 7, 2005 13 out of 20 found this review helpful
what kind of rebirts is this. rebirth of what. All the songs sounds the same. Hardly any melody to them. just awfull. I used to like her. Now I am just completely bored with her. This cd is about nothing. No passion, just bland sound.
Re-what??? April 11, 2005 13 out of 19 found this review helpful
Re-...
I'm not quite sure what she re-did, but I know that word in the dots is not the word "birth". You would think she would bring back lots of hip-hop/latin flavored beats with excellent vocals, like her "On The 6" and "J. Lo" albums, because I really didn't want another "This Is Me...Then". Not quite.
The CD starts off with her latest flop, "Get Right". And I could understand why it was a flop. After you hear this song 10 times, you may go deaf, due to the very annoying repeated saxaphone. Nice beat, otherwise I'd call it a small offering. "Step Into My World" is just awful. It has this tiring R&B type of beat, and her voice sounds like she's trying to snore but she's singing. Bad vocals, boring beat, not a good comboination, ehh? The next track, "Hold You Down", to me is the first song that is worth listening too. I admit, the beat is quite nice, and not too tacky as I thought it would be. And, J. Lo's voice isn't a dying cat like usual in this CD. "Whatever You Wanna Do" is confusing. J. Lo says "Come on man, I need something to move to, you need to give me some of that funk.". And, it's anything but. Yeah, maybe you could move to it, but this is definitely not funk. It has a simialar, annoying beat like "Get Right". It has these people in the background going "Woah!", and then you have this beat going again, again, and again. It's going to also make you deaf after 10 listens. Then, "Cherry Pie", is probably the last song on the CD that is good. It does have a very addicting 90's-type beat. The vocals are okay, or, at least they aren't awful. Though, "Cherry Pie" is one of the best of the CD, that's not saying very much. "I Got You" is just disposable pop-R&B garbage. It has an okay beat, but J. Lo sounds like a dying cat. "Still Around" is just awful. It all about her Marc Anthony relationship, and her vocals are once again awful, and the beat is not much to help it. "Ride Or Die" is another song like "Step Into My World". It has an awful disposable R&B beat. The vocals are a bit better, but that's not saying a lot, considering they're still pretty bad. The next song, "I Love", is the worst song yet (the very worst song coming up...). The beat has annoying synths and these drums. That's all it really is. And the vocals aren't anything but terrifying. "He'll Be Back" is now the worst song YET (still not quite at the worst song yet). Dying dog (this time) vocals, and the beat is a bunch of synths and drums mixed together to form overproduced-pop garbage. Yes, we've all finally reached the worst song of "Rebirth". And believe it or not, it's saying a lot this time. I could probably do better at sing on this song, and the beat are violins, synths, and drums that all seem they are playing something else, making "Can't Believe This Is Me" have 0 substance or melody at all. The lyrics are awful, and guess who there written by. Yep, her so-called boyfriend/husband. And the "Get Right Remix" is just like the original, only it has a Fabolous verse in it to make it better, I guess.
"Rebirth" does have some good beats, but the CD fails as a whole, due to the tacky beats and the poor vocals. It doesn't show anything but the fact that the CD doesn't deliever much. Overall, I would not recommend this CD at all.
