Smoldering Mound of Poo... March 17, 2005 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
You know, when I first saw the title of this album, "Rebirth", and decided to check it out, I thought it might actually be a return to something similar to her "On the 6" album, which was actually pretty decent for someone of limited musical talent. A return to her pre-Ja Rule collaborations, pre-obnoxiously annoying behavior, etc. Oh good golly miss molly was I wrong!
Despite all the big-name producers on this album, Ms. Lopez still didn't "Get Right". To "Step Into Her World" is to feel what it's like to have forks repeatedly jabbed in your ears. With "music" like this, I can't believe she's "Still Around". After hearing this album top to bottom, Ms. Lopez by all means do "Whatever You Wanna Do", so long as it's NOT RELEASE ANYMORE ALBUMS!
And if she wanted to show that she's still "street" and reflect her true self, perhaps she should have chosen better titles for the tracks than the amazingly asinine ones chosen for Rebirth. How about "3rd Time's a Charm...Until the Next Guy Comes Along", "Hold You Down, Bunny Rabbit, While I Try to Turn You Into a Cute Little Jacket", or "Marc and Me, Annoying as Can Be"?
It's sad, but I had way more respect for her when she felt she actually needed to make an effort in order to gain people's respect. "Selena" (film) and "On the 6" (album) come to mind.
"Rebirth", on the other hand, was absolute crap.
Are you kidding me!!!????? April 20, 2005 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
One word for this CD- HORRIBLE!!! I wanted to give it zero stars but amazon wouldn't let me. If you seriously think that this garbage sounds good, I don't know what to tell ya. J-LO cannot sing and this CD is a prime example of that. This might just be the absolute worst attempt at music I have ever heard in my life. I would rather listen to finger nails on a chalk board than this trash...in fact, that's where this CD belongs..with the rest of the trash. Do yourself a favor, save your money and buy REAL music (Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, Vanessa Carlton and on and on). Rebirth..yea right...try DEATH.
absolutely zero stars April 23, 2005 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
it would be an insult to the music industry to give this disgraceful album even one star.this is garbage and listening to this album is an absolute torture on the ears folks.I am convinced that you will not find a more worse album which was A BIG FLOP on release.I will be happy if this talentless tart stops recording and retires as SHE CAN NEITHER SING NOR ACT.AN ABSOLUTE MUST AVOID.get STIFF UPPER LIP from AC/DC instead.NEGATIVE ONE BILLION STARS for this horrible j lo album.
WOW!!!.. This album is crack to the ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! March 1, 2005 9 out of 12 found this review helpful
J.Lo, yo I gotta tell you I was not really a fan of your music until I heard this very uptempo classic fun album. J.Lo I must say to your best album yet..Keep up the good work...Forget the haters they just want to be U..Get the dirt off ur shoulders!!!
Haters can go, cause this a great album from J.Lo!! March 1, 2005 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
"Rebirth" is a good album but J.Lo. There are always going to be haters againist her but real listeners know that she has good music. Hey, we all know she is no Whitney or Mariah, but she has her own style and her voice is good. This album is to me the best for her vocally. My fav tracks are "Get Right," "Step into My World," "Cherry Pie (why are people saying this sing is filler, and it is not," "Whatever You Wanna Do (GIVE ME THAT FUNK I CAN MOVE TO (I love that line))," and "Hold You Down." GO J.LO SHAKE THEM HATERS OFF
